::haiku

My poetry students are writing haikus this week.

Here's one for today:

Amid the spring scents,
snarling lips of snow remain:
Winter's last hurrah.

I'm excited to hear theirs.

Young, enthusiastic writers restore my passion for my own discovery of lingual rarities.

I like:

barren branches, sunlight on snow, textured paintings, uncontrolled giggles, sincere gratitude, strawberry pancakes, scented stickers, argyle sweaters, long embraces, chivalry, purple scarves, suddenly bursting into song, unusual photos, fleece blankets, word games, poignant poems, historic houses, cinnamon sticks, vintage fashion, black keyboards, antique instruments, typewriters, handmade necklaces, geometric doodles, roller pens, stolen glances, handwritten letters, fastidious librarians, anglophilia, elaborate costumes, one-hit wonders...

Et tu, dear reader?
